Assestment – NeuroTHERMAL: Thermography

NeuroTHERMAL scans (thermographic scanning) expands the chiropractic story beyond the spine by exploring the deeper nerve connections that control organs and glands and skin temperature…Ummm…what did we just say?!? We can have a better understanding of our organs based on the temperatures of our back?! Yuuuup. Let us explain what we mean.

Using infrared heat technology allows us to differentiate skin temperatures from side-to-side all along the spine. These temperature differences allow us to know where the nervous system is in sympathetic vs. parasympathetic dominance? That’s like allowing us to see where a gas pedal of “stress” is stuck on and where a brake pedal of “relax” is throughout the nervous system. If the nervous system has a sympathetic gas pedal stuck on at different levels, it can make it much more difficult for the brain and spinal cord to relay information to the organ systems giving them what they need for function and efficiency. Likewise, the organ systems can have a difficult time telling the spinal cord and brain what they actually need. Imagine being on a 911 dispatch call and both parties hearing static every other word?!!!! NO. BUENO.

The neuroTHERMAL device scans the temperatures of the entire spine to assess autonomic control. From the scan, we can detect fractional temperature differences (shifts) at every spinal level using infrared camera technology. These shifts help us detect inflammation and areas of deep stress build-up which reveals the possible health or dysfunction of the autonomic system and corresponding organ systems. Here at Revolution, this scan really impacts the way we provide you care…Dr. Jason uses these scans to identify where there is poor autonomic control so he can provide more specific, scientific, and neuro-based care! Through specific adjustments, we can target these areas (opposed to only addressing symptomatic areas) and help calm the gas pedal of stress by helping balance it with a little brake pedal. As you can imagine, the communication of your body gets better with less stress (aka static)?!
